Chapter6

Others would consider her a mental patient.

Mo Senlin remained silent for a moment before asking, “Do you live in Qingyun Community?” Lu Qin nodded vigorously like a chick pecking at rice, then suddenly realized and exclaimed in surprise, “Huh, how did you know I live there?” Her eyes widened in astonishment.

Mo Senlin walked leisurely toward the hospital entrance and said, “I also live in Qingyun Residential Community.” Lu Qin instinctively followed him and asked, “Oh, so we’re neighbors in the same building… What brings you to the hospital?” Mo Senlin replied, “To receive an IV drip.” His pace was sluggish and weak.

One can’t help but wonder whether he might suddenly fall apart as he walks along.

Lu Qin: “Oh.” She glanced at the man, unsure how to bring up the issue of carfare; he seemed to have forgotten what she had just said.

Mo Senlin turned to gaze at her: “Since we’re neighbors, why don’t we wait until I finish my IV drip and then head back to the residential complex together?” Lu Qin asked, “What?” Mo Senlin lowered his eyes and asked, “Or do you have something important to attend to right now?” Lu Qin replied instinctively, “No, nothing.” Her response effectively amounted to accepting his suggestion.

It was only after accompanying the man into the outpatient room that Lu Qin felt deeply frustrated, blaming herself for her excessive softness of heart for allowing him to lead her by the nose! The physician first posed several routine questions, to which Mo Senlin responded honestly; subsequently, inquiries regarding dietary habits were asked.

The doctor put down his pen and frowned deeply, asking, “Have you gone without eating for a day?” Mo Senlin replied, “Yes.” Lu Qin stood beside him, utterly astonished; before she could even process this shock, she suddenly received the doctor’s intense reproachful gaze.

Lu Qin looked completely confused.

The doctor examined the man’s pale face, then turned to the adorable girl standing beside him, and let out a profound sigh.

“Young lady, no matter how serious the disagreement may be, you can’t refuse to let your boyfriend have a meal. Look—he’s already experiencing low blood sugar due to hunger.” Lu Qin: “…” It’s not that I don’t have any objections.

Mo Senlin turned her head with an innocent expression, meeting Lu Qin’s gaze—the one who had been blamed for everything.

Lu Qin was just about to explain things clearly.

The child was intercepted by the doctor while still in the cradle.

The doctor tore out a prescription slip: “Go get the medication; it’s on the first floor. Young lady, please keep an eye on your boyfriend—he may feel fatigued and drowsy at this time; take good care of him.” Lu Qin received the slip and remained silent.

Mo Senlin suddenly stood up; probably due to a slight sense of dizziness, he nearly fell.

Lu Qin quickly supported him.

Mo Senlin took the prescription from her hand and pursed her lips: “I’ll go get the medicine. I’d be truly grateful if you could accompany me.” The doctor said solemnly, “Young lady, observe how well your boyfriend treats you. In a relationship, it’s unfair for only one party to make sacrifices; you must understand and support each other!” He avoided using harsh words, fearing that the young woman’s fragile psyche might feel wronged.

Mo Senlin smiled and said, “Doctor, you’ve misunderstood; she isn’t my girlfriend. I fainted, and it was her who took me to the hospital.” If he didn’t explain further, the young girl wearing a pink pajama beside him would likely become so angry that she might even smash the outpatient room in.

The doctor was taken aback: “Is that so?” Lu Qin became furious and insisted, “Doctor, I really am not this guy’s girlfriend!” As she spoke, she tapped the man’s arm.
